I still might pick Intel Core 2 Duo over AMD Athlon X2 but its going to a bit more expensive since to the more expensive motherboard.

Yep, Intel Core 2 Duo is the better CPU and cheaper than a similar AMD, but a good P4-Mobo with i965-chipset is much more expensive than a AM2-Board

Conroe and Allendale only different is 4MB cache on conroe and 2mb of allendale ill just get the allendale and save money for the sli setup
